MSI's FREE monthly program takes place at the downtown Redwood City Library at 11am, AND at the Redwood Shores Library,
399 Marine Parkway, Redwood City. As always, no registration required,

Join MSI's ever popular guided low tide walks at Pillar Point in Half Moon Bay. It's been many moons since our the tides have alligned to make a good exploration possible, now the season is back for great exploring!
We'll meet up promptly in the parking lot, and head out to search for crabs, fish, anemones, urchins, octopus and more! Bring appropriate shoes & spare socks. Our instructors will ensure that you discover the magic of the tidepools without harming this stunning environment.

Shark Day!Saturday, January 28 9am ~ 12pm

MSI loves sharks, even if they can be a little spooky! Our special Shark Day invites one and all to learn about these amazing creatures, from the Great Whites that swim just off our ocean shores, to the gentle Leopard Sharks that are common in our Bay. We will be feeding and touching our local Leopard Sharks in our teaching aquarium, and viewing information about the vital role of these top predators around our world's oceans. $10 for members, $20 for non-members - advanced registration required. |

Año Nuevo State Reserve Elephant Seal WalkSaturday, February 11 2pm ~ 5pm (two seperate walks)

Año Nuevo State Reserve is the site of the largest mainland breeding colony in the world for the northern elephant seal. Docents from the State Reserve and MSI will lead a fun and entertaining 2.5-hour interpretive hike. See this once-a-year spectacle as the males battle for mates on the beaches and the females give birth to their pups on the dunes. Hikes will cover 3 miles of rolling sand dunes and are considered to be moderately strenuous. Online Registration Required, SPACE IS EXTREMELY LIMITED.
Cost: $20/person, $10 members, kids 3 and under are FREE. |

MSI Event Cancellation and refund policy: For a full refund, we ask our guests to cancel their registrations with a minimum of one weeks notice. This allows for families on waiting lists to register and adequately plan their calendars. In the event you must cancel your participation within 1 week of the scheduled event, MSI will charge a $10.00 cancellation fee. Please note our events still take place during rain or shine including our Discovery Voyages unless deemed a safety issue by the ship's Captain. Should MSI cancel an event for any reason you will be notified via the contact information upon registration and be issued a full refund. Questions??
