The Marine Science Institute is honoring Planet Earth with our Earth Day on the Bay! event on Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 8 am - 5 pm. This all day event is filled with family-friendly events geared towards providing fun, memorable, and meaningful experiences to bond you with San Francisco Bay, and the planet. Last year was was a tremendous success, and you can catch a glimpse of the fun here.
This year promises to be our biggest and best yet. We're lucky to have some of our steller performers back from previous years, and some very special new guests. After all, MSI is celebrating our 40th anniversary this year, so of course you would expect us to go for a little extra special fun for you all. We have packed in a terrific variety of watery ways to have fun and learn about our treasured San Francisco Bay.

We are especially honored to host the producer and director of the new fabulous documentary Saving the Bay. Ron Blatman will be in attendance to present a special one-hour version of the longer documentary project. Narrated by Robert Redford, Saving the Bay explores the history of one of America’s greatest natural resources — San Francisco Bay.
Later on there will be a question and answer with Mr. Blatman, along with the unveiling of a new suite of educational tools to help carry the message and meaning of the film forward.
