Earth Day on the Bay Planning Commission

Program Description: Earth Day on the Bay is the largest free public event that MSI offers (+1600 visitors). This all-day event features excitement for the whole family around the clock, with multiple hands-on activities including live animal touching, shark feedings, voyages aboard our ship, arts and crafts, and live music. Earth Day on the Bay also hosts partnering organizations in an environmental faire where attendees can participate in more activities and connect with local environmental groups. This event it is not possible without the generous support of sponsors in the community and the help of dedicated and creative interns.  

 

Internship Description: MSI seeks one or two interns to assist in the planning and execution of Earth Day on the Bay. Marketing Interns help MSI plan, prepare for, and carry out activities to ensure a successful event. Interns should have experience with planning, press releases, marketing campaigns, community research, outreach, social media platforms and have excellent written and oral skills. 

 

Commitment: This position requires a commitment of 6-8 hours a week for 5-6 months starting in January. The event is usually the 3rd or 4th Saturday in April.

 

Requirements: Minimum age requirement is 18, reliable transportation, cell phone.
