Marine Science Camp Management Internship
Emphasis in Educational Development, Event Planning, Leadership and Management
Internship Description: Marine Science Camp Management Interns would work directly with the Camp Manager to manage logistics of a large-scale camp. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting camper check-in/out daily; communicating with parents; managing schedules for staff; assisting with the continuous development and inventory of curriculum materials.
Program Description: Marine Science Institute offers a fast-paced, knowledge-packed camp experience. Camp introduces children to the wonders of our amazing marine environment through a variety of fun-filled, hands-on activities, themed crafts, games, songs & stories. For 9 weeks from June to August, campers ages 5-13 explore different groups of animals and marine habitats throughout the week. We take our campers on field trips around the Bay, including trips aboard our 90-foot research vessel, and spend time at our Redwood City teaching facility with aquariums & classrooms.
Commitment: 9 weeks from June 15-August 14, 15-20 hours per week or more.
Daily commitment of 7:30-9:30 am and/or 12:30-3:30 pm highly desired.
Requirements: Minimum age requirement is 18. Reliable transportation and cell phone are required.
This is a leadership role and requires a high level of maturity, verbal skills, and team work. Good communication skills, problem solving and quick thinking are essential.
This is a limited internship, only 1 or 2 applicants are selected depending on availability. This internship is unpaid.
