Internship Description: Marine Science Camp Photography Interns would work to document and share the experiences of summer camp participants with the camp community. Responsibilities include but are not limited to taking photos and post-processing them, maintaining a photo-sharing platform, and culling the photo archives. Interns take photos while rotating through activity stations, going on field trips to off-site locations, and joining our research vessel voyages with the campers. Photos will be used for future marketing purposes so this is a great way for interns to add to their portfolio and have their photos viewed by thousands of people.
Program Description: Marine Science Institute offers a fast-paced, knowledge-packed camp experience. Camp introduces children to the wonders of our amazing marine environment through a variety of fun-filled, hands-on activities, themed crafts, games, songs & stories. Campers ages 5-13 explore different groups of animals and marine habitats throughout the week. We take our campers on field trips around the Bay, including trips aboard our 90-foot research vessel, and spend time at our Redwood City teaching facility with aquariums & classrooms.
Commitment: Minimum of 3 weeks between June 15-August 14, 5-10 hours per week, possibly more
Requirements: minimum age requirement is 16. Reliable transportation and cell phone are required.
This role will include independent work and requires maturity, focus and initiative. Ability to learn quickly is essential. Experience with basic photo editing is a plus.
This is a limited internship, only 1-2 applicants are chosen. This internship is unpaid.
