Social Media and Marketing Internship
Emphasis in Social Media Platforms, Campaigns, and Logistics
Program Description: Marine Science Institute utilizes social media and other e-marketing tools for its promotional campaigns and efforts. To keep MSI’s use of social media in motion interns play a vital role in the creation and scheduling of promotional efforts. MSI uses a variety of creative tools as well to compliment the visual ascetics of ads such as Canva and Photoshop. This program is constantly changing and evolving due to the nature of e-technology and interns need to be able to adapt a rotating responsibility.
Volunteer Description: Volunteers are expected to create campaigns to help promote MSI’s programs using an editorial calendar and appropriate e-marketing tools. This will include constant contact for email campaigns, along with common social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Additional tools may be implemented such as latergram for ease of scheduling. Volunteers will be directly supervised by the Community Outreach Coordinator and Social Media Team and could eventually work remotely with scheduled check-ins.
Commitment: minimum 3 hours a week (maximum 6 hours a week), 12 weeks, ability to work remotely once a schedule is prearranged
Requirements: Minimum age requirement is 18. Reliable transportation, laptop, and cell phone are required. This role will include independent work and requires maturity, focus and initiative. Ability to learn quickly is essential. Experience with basic social media platforms, Google Docs, and Google Sheets preferred.
This is a limited internship, only 1-2 applicants are chosen. This internship is unpaid.
