Marine Science Camp - Internships and Volunteering

Interns and Volunteers play a vital role in the success of our summer Marine Science Camp by helping the staff ensure that campers have the best week of the summer. Interns and Volunteers will have great experiences with their peers and a chance to grow their marine science knowledge, leadership skills and increase their capacity as a role model. Marine Science Camp Management Internship

Emphasis in Educational Development, Event Planning, Leadership, and Management

Work directly with the Camp Manager to manage logistics of a large-scale camp. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting camper check-in/out daily, communicating with parents, managing schedules for staff, and assisting with the continuous development and inventory of curriculum materials.

*Must be at least 18 years old


Marine Science Camp Photography Internship

Emphasis in Photography and Editing

Document and share the experiences of campers with the camp community. Responsibilities include but are not limited to taking photos and post-processing them, maintaining a photo-sharing platform, and culling the photo archives. Interns take photos while rotating through activity stations, going on field trips to off-site locations, and joining our research vessel voyages with the campers. Photos will be used for future marketing purposes so this is a great way for interns to add to their portfolio and have their photos viewed by thousands of people.

*Must be at least 16 years old


Marine Science Camp Volunteer

Emphasis in Educational Development, Child Development and Leadership

Assist instructors and counselors in the many facets of running a successful program. Camp volunteers enjoy the opportunity to join campers in learning, going on field trips, and making friends. Above all, they are role models and companions for our young campers.

*Must be at least 16 years old


Marine Science Camp Jr. Volunteer/Counselor-in-Training

Emphasis in Educational Development, Child Development and Leadership

Assist instructors and counselors in the many facets of running a successful program. Camp volunteers enjoy the opportunity to join campers in learning, going on field trips, and making friends. Above all, they are role models and companions for our young campers. Jr. Volunteers will be placed in our K-1st grade Plankton Pioneer camps and will be paired up with seasoned volunteers to allow for an apprentice style approach to leadership.

*Must be at least 12 years old
