Foldscope Workshop

3/28 10AM - 12PM

Build your own oragami-based microscope! Foldscope is a pocket-sized paper-based microscope that you assemble yourself. It is designed to be inexpensive, durable, and give optical quality similar to conventional research microscopes. After assembly, we will take to the Bay to collect our own live plankton samples and test our creations!

Questions

Marine Science Institute is open for programs and taking a proactive approach to help slow the spread of the novel coronavirus. We’ve increased sanitation efforts and ask that you take precautionary measures by washing your hands, avoid touching your face, and sneeze or cough into your sleeve. We will revaluate our steps daily following guidance from the CDC and San Mateo County Health. As always, we are an outdoor space that hosts small groups which reduces risk of exposure to field trip participants and staff.
