Shark Day

5/16 10-11:30AM & 10:30-12PM

Our special Shark Day invites one and all to learn about these amazing creatures, from the great whites that swim just off our ocean shores, to the gentle leopard sharks that are common in our Bay. We will be feeding and touching our local leopard sharks in our teaching aquarium, and examining the vital role of these top predators.

Shoreside Fish

6-20 10 - 12PM

A Shoreside at MSI promises to be a fun morning of exploration and discovery! At our beach front facility participants will work as a team to pull in a large seine (net) to catch local fishes, identify common Bay fish, touch and examine local sharks, and learn the difference between bony fish and cartilaginous fish (sharks and rays).

Canoes in Sloughs

6/6 9AM - 2PM

We don't get to canoe very often so don't miss out. We'll explore Bair Island, a rare example of an undeveloped wetland ecosystem, enjoy lunch from our canoes, and take a little bit of time for some creek cleanup! Children must be 5 or older to attend and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
