Summer camp planning is in full force and heating up this winter! We are excited and happy to announce the 2017 Marine Science Camp dates below. All sessions run Monday through Friday, except July 3-7* which is shortened due to the 4th of July holiday.
Plankton Pioneers (entering grades K-1st): Introduces campers to different aspects of marine science. Each day at our site is themed with hands-on activities, animal touching and a fun craft that is related to the theme of the day. During one camp day, campers are true marine biologists aboard our research vessel and practice animal collecting from the Bay!

Wetland Explorers (entering grades 2nd-5th): This camp focuses on the San Francisco Bay estuary’s animals and habitats including marshes, sloughs and mudflats. Campers will discover the science and creatures of their own backyards through hands-on activities and interactions with live animals. Campers journey to beautiful habitats around the Bay on field trips and a voyage aboard our ship.

Ocean Explorers (entering grades 2nd-5th): Discuss coastal California and the world’s ocean. Hands-on activities put campers in contact with live animals and science in action. Field trips to the coast and aboard our research vessel allow them to investigate ocean habitats.

Naturalists (returning campers entering grades 4th-5th): Campers who have previously attended Ocean Explorers or Wetland Explorers & are ready to delve a little deeper will enjoy this fast-paced camp. Campers will learn how to be naturalists and have fun studying marine science research methods in both the wetland and oceanic habitats. Exciting field trips and a trip on our research vessel take students behind the scenes as marine biologists.

Underwater Investigators (entering 6th-8th grades): Campers explore the varied fields within marine science including marine ecology, biodiversity, biological oceanography and more by using scientific data collection and analysis on land, boat and canoe. Our middle school age camp even has an overnight aboard the Research Vessel!

Project Discovery (entering 9th-12th grades): Geared toward high school students who
want to study marine biology in the field. They have an action packed week starting with animal sampling and data collection aboard the Research Vessel, followed by 4 days of camping along the coastline.
