MSI’s grant funders are the BEST! Oracle Corporation works to improve the quality of life in the communities where it does business. They are one of San Mateo County’s biggest corporate supporters of nonprofit organizations and their missions. Oracle sponsors more than 1,000 nonprofit organizations globally each year. In FY13 and FY14, Oracle donated $21 million in cash to nonprofit organizations to advance education, protect the environment, increase opportunity and enrich community life.

Since 1998, Oracle has granted Marine Science Institute more than $300,000, specifically to sponsor youth from low-income schools in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties to take field trips to the San Francisco Bay’s waterfront, embark on our ship, and learn about the marine life and ecology of the bay. Oracle supports the Marine Science Institute because we consistently deliver on our promise that students will develop scientific inquiry skills, gain an understanding, appreciation and respect for the San Francisco Bay ecosystem, and increase their knowledge of environmentally-responsible human behavior.
Thank you, Oracle, for believing in MSI!

it's impressive to see a corporation like oracle commit so consistently to local environmental education. the specific figure of over $300,000 for bay field trips really shows a targeted, long-term investment. this kind of support is crucial for organizations like the marine science institute to provide hands-on learning. the focus on low-income schools makes the impact even more meaningful.
