Creature Feature: Meet our local not-so-giant squid

Having a giant squid wrap its tentacles around your paddle board and hitching a ride might sound like its straight out of a sci-fi movie – but it did actually happen recently. According to a trending social media story an injured giant squid grabbed on to a paddle board off the coast of South Africa. All this excitement about squids got us wondering about our local not-so-giant squids that call the Pacific Ocean home.
